Carbon footprint 2030: Spain's path towards a renewable future

The world is changing and natural resources are running out. Spain is moving with a firm step towards an energy model based on clean sources. This transition is essential for the protection of the land and the conservation of nature for our children.

Solar energy

Global warming and climate commitment

Global warming is one of the most serious challenges of our generation. European scientific reports agree that the average temperature of the Iberian Peninsula has steadily risen over recent decades, with longer summers, more prolonged droughts and episodes of heavy rainfall in Mediterranean regions.

In this context, Spanish and European public administrations have set clear emission reduction targets for 2030. The development of a responsible energy model is the foundation on which the protection of ecosystems, the air quality of large cities and the health of future generations are built.

The role of Spain in green energy

Spain is one of the European countries with the highest potential for the development of renewable energy. Its terrain, its hours of sunshine and the constant wind in regions such as Castilla y León, Aragón or Galicia turn the land into a natural laboratory for the energy transition.

Photovoltaic solar energy continues to grow in Andalusia, Extremadura and Castilla-La Mancha, where large capture surfaces are concentrated. Wind energy, on the other hand, leads renewable generation in the northern peninsula and the archipelagos. Spanish energy companies, together with local cooperatives and regional administrations, are driving projects focused on territorial development and the protection of the landscape.

The challenge is not only to produce more clean energy, but to integrate it while respecting the environment: ecological corridors, reasonable distances from rural settlements, soil recovery and the participation of local communities in the design of the energy future.

Agriculture 5.0

The future of Agriculture 5.0

Agriculture 5.0 represents the convergence between the traditional knowledge of the Spanish countryside and the most advanced digital tools: humidity sensors, connected weather stations, precision irrigation and open-source soil analysis software.

This approach allows family farms in Castilla, Aragón, Valencia or Murcia to optimise water use, reduce chemical treatments and improve crop quality. The protection of soil and biodiversity is the basis of a sustainable and future-oriented agricultural model.

Sustainable rural development, supported by cooperatives and public technology centres, is the pillar for a more resilient agricultural world in the face of heat waves and changes in rainfall patterns.

A green, strong and serene Spain

Moving towards a green Spain means moving towards a conscious, informed and committed society. The transition is not a distant goal: it is a daily path made of small decisions, public policy, open science and citizen participation.
